eye began to swell badly, almost to the
point of closing completely, in the second
round.
Guzman came
out in the second ripping left hooks to the
head of Villareal, but Villareal closed the
round with a big 1-2 combo that stunned
Guzman.

was more even, although Villareal continued
to score with good body work.

Middleweight Cesar Martinez
of Houston was making his
pro debut against
Marchristopher Adkins of
Dallas, who was also making
his pro debut.

Adkins came out with a sense of
urgency in round two and the
fighters traded combinations,
although Martinez continued to land
the more effective shots.
Martinez was dominant early in round
three, although Adkins landed
several sharp counter shots toward
the end of the round.

40-36 for Martinez, giving him the
unanimous decision!
"Yori Boy" Thumps "T-Reezy"!
In the main event, Light Middleweight boxing legend
and former IBF World Title holder Luis Ramon "Yori Boy" Campas of Navojoa, Mexico faced Texas journeyman Taronze
"T-Reezy" Washington of Dallas.
The 38-year-old Campas brought an astounding record of 92-15-1 with 74 KO's, while Washington came in at 14-13 with 7 KO's.
Campas was 1-5-1 in his last seven outings, most recently dropping a ten-round split decision to Hector Camacho Junior.

Meanwhile the match was the chance of a lifetime for Washington, who had won four of his last seven bouts, including an eight round majority decision win over Sugar Land's Guadalupe Martinez in October of '08, and a 12-round unanimous decision loss to then 20-0 Austin Trout in a fight for the WBC Continental Americas Light Middleweight title in Dallas in November of '09.
Washington was coming off a unanimous six-round decision loss to Rodrigo Garcia in Los Angeles in May,
and he offered a valiant effort against Campas,
actually making the fight closer than reflected in
the final scores.

shots to open round five, although "Yori Boy" nailed
Washington with a left hook to the body that seemed
to stagger him.
But Washington
recovered and fired back, to land combinations
against Campas.

White/Castaneda
Exhibition!
In a three-round exhibition match because their
respective scheduled opponents pulled out, Light
Heavyweight Cornelius "The Beast"" White of
Houston took on Light Middleweight Fernando Castaneda of of Aguascalientes, Mexico (7-5, 4 KO's).
Although White had about 25 pounds on Castaneda, it
actually proved to be quite entertaining for an
exhibition bout.
