Welterweight Jermall "Hitman" Charlo of Houston faced the
elusive Deon Nash of Lutcher, Louisiana.

near the end of round one. See video of round
two below!

eight fights.
Charlo essentially chased Nash through rounds three

Nash's connecting shots were even more rare. Nash
opened up with a quick flurry of combinations in
round five but faded, and apparently saved much of
his energy for the sixth round.

judges scored the bout 60-54, while a third had it
59-55, all for Charlo, giving him the unanimous
decision!
Jermall Charlo remains undefeated!

longer for Mendez's superior speed, power and
tenacity to
become evident.

Mendez brought a
record of 5-0-1 with 1 KO while Mayfield came in at
2-3 with 1 KO. Mendez was coming off a four-round

Brashears Beats
"Topita"!
Jose "Topita" Gutierrez of

the busier of the two fighters through the second
round.

his last three fights, including most recently a 4th
round TKO over Anthony Middlebrooks in Humble on
June 4th.

2 KO's.
He was coming off a five-round unanimous
decision loss to Mike Dallas Jr. in Lemoore
California on April 23rd.
Topita's straight
ahead style seemed to be tailor-made for the taller
and quicker Brashears, who also possessed sufficient
power to slow the attacks from Gutierrez!! By the
third round Brashers was catching Gutierrez with
countershot hooks and combinations to the head.

.
After both fighters
seemed to take a bit of a breather in round five,
