Tiffany Junot of New Orleans pressured and
overpowered a very scrappy Kita "Ready Made" Watkins of
Tyler, Texas to take a majority eight-round decision and
capture the vacant Texas Women's Junior Welterweight Title
on April 29th at the Houston Club in downtown Houston!
Jones
Jolts Spear!
In the co-main event, heavyweight Justin Jones of Houston faced Charles Spear of Killeen, Texas in a bout scheduled for six rounds.
Jones
weighed in at 228 lbs, and came in at 7-0-1 with 4 KO's, while
Spear, who weighed 258, had a record of 4-7 with 4 KO's.
Spear had lost his last six fights and had not fought since 2006. Jones was coming off a 1st round TKO over Chris Abercrombie in Texas City on March 18th.

Brantley!
Heavyweight Skip Scott of Houston (6-1, 4 KO's) took on Ross "Da Boss" Brantley of Dallas (2-14-1).

"Dynamite" Blasts
Johnson!
Cruiserweight Willie "Dynamite" Edwards of Houston matched up against "Gentleman" James Johnson of Dallas.

Edwards came in at 7-1 with 6 KO's while Johnson brought a record of 22-39-3 with 13 KO's.
It was Edwards' first fight since his lone loss, a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Brent Urban in Humble in June of '09.
Johnson had lost his last eleven straight fights, although he had gone six rounds twice and even ten rounds in losing a unanimous decision against Martin Verdin in Louisiana in May of '09.
Edwards dominated
round two with jabs and left hooks to the head,
while Johnson made a better showing in the third
round, as the fighters traded right hand shots to
the head.

One judge scored the
bout at draw at 38-38, while the other two gave it
to Edwards with scores of 39-37 and 40-36, giving
Edwards the majority decision!
Junot Takes Title!
Tiffany Junot of New Orleans took on Kita Watkins of Camden, Arkansas in a scheduled eight-round bout for the Texas Light Welterweight Title.
Junot came in at 7-2-1 with 5 KO's, while Watkins brought a record of 5-5 with 1 KO, having won her last two fights by decision.
Watkins would prove
to be a very worthy opponent once again,
demonstrating that she is an accurate
counterpuncher, nailing Junot with several solid
shots.
Watkins may have had her best round of the
fight in round two.

This was a rematch between the two women, as Junot had won a unanimous four-round decision over Watkins in Kinder, Louisiana in June of '09.
Watkins also showed
good movement throughout the match, and the fighters
traded punched several times, especially in the
closing seconds of each round.

As the fight wore into
the seventh round Junot continued the pressure
and Watkins remained game, but seemed to be wearing
down some.
Junot blasted
Watkins with several solid
right hands to the head while she was against
the ropes.

bout a draw at 76-76, while the other two judged
both scored it 79-73, giving Junot the majority
decision!

Gerardo "Tin Tin" Ibarraof Houston (8-0,
7 KO's) made short work of Charles Sims of Arlington. (4-32-1, 2 KO's).
Ibarra
continued to look extremely impressive, now
knocking out his last five opponents, none going a full three rounds.
Despite
Sims' lopsided record, he was actually coming off a 4th round TKO win over Doyle Page in Texarkana last October.
