Hill Hacks Felton!

The main event saw heavyweight "Mean" Eugene Hill of Dickinson, Texas against Jonathan Felton of Stafford, Virginia in a scheduled six round bout for the Texas Heavyweight Title.

Hill came in weighing 262 lbs. and with a record of  20-1 with 15 KO's, having won his last four bouts since losing a majority decision to Zack Page in Houston last April.

Hill had gone the distance in three of his last four wins, and had been telling the local media that he would be trying to knock Felton out early.

He wasn't taking much of a risk in selecting the 37-year-old 223-pound Felton, "The People's Champion", who came in at 6-21 with 5 KO's, and had lost his last seven bouts in a row.

To his credit, Felton had gone the distance in the majority of his losses, in bouts scheduled for four rounds.

But while Felton was sloppy and often comical, clearly not a serious opponent, he did show he could take a pretty good punch, in that Hill blasted him with body shots and nailed him with some mean head shots as well.

But Felton never seemed really hurt throughout. Felton also landed some shots of his own, which seemed to be mostly for show.

..

Finally at the beginning of round six referee Bobby Gonzalez seemed to acknowledge the inevitable, that Felton had no real chance or seemingly not even an intention of winning the bout, and so Gonzalez called a halt.
