Light middleweight Juan Carlos "Blacktino" Candelo
of Houston exposed the flaws in the game of Chase "White Tiger" Shields.
But this fight was
not about Shields' weaknesses. It was about the

up in class for the the 32-year-old Shields.
Shields brought a record of 29-2-1 with 14 KO's, but had almost exclusively fought inferior opponents with losing records.
The 35-year-old Candelo (29-10-4,
20 KO's) is a former NABF light middleweight champion who had gone 12 rounds with Winky Wright in challenging for the world IBF title in 2003, and
Candelo went ten rounds in losing to Verno Phillips in 2005.
