"Mean" Eugene Hill was too aggressive and too
powerful for "Crazy" Robbie McClimans at the Houston
Hobby Marriott Hotel on October 23rd of 2009!!
"Dynamite"

"Dynamite" Hopkins of Missouri City, Texas
rebounded from near defeat to tapout RJ Knepp in the
third round!
See
round one below!
..
Knepp,
from League City, Texas, came in with a record
of 1-0, while Lewis brought a record of 3-6.
After
the wild first round with its multiple reversals,
Knepp dominated the second round, at one point
mounting Lewis and hammering several unanswered shots
to Lewis' head.
See round two below!
..
But Lewis survived the punishment and came back to choke out Knepp
at 1:53 of the third and final round!
"El
Torito" Gores "El Campechano"!
Lightweight
Jesus "El Torito" Rodarte of Houston remains
undefeated after taking a unanimous
four-round decision over Miguel "El
Campechano" Delgado of Dallas!
Rodarte showed a record of 4-0 with 2 KO's, coming off a four-round majority decision over Rocky Rubaldino in Dallas on May 1st.
The bomb-throwing Delgado came in at 3-14-1 with 3 KO's but in most of his losses he had gone the distance, either four or six rounds.
See round one
below!
..
Delgado is best known in Houston
for snuffing out the rising star of previously undefeated Cruz "Lil Tone" Valdivia with a
devastating first round KO in Houston in April of 2008.
Valdivia has not fought since.
Delgado was
the aggressor in much of rounds two and
three but Rodarte showed effective movement
and repeatedly stuck "El Campechano" with
counterpunches.

four!
..
All three
judges scored the bout 40-36 for Rodarte.
Flores Rips Renteria!
Super Bantamweight Miguel "El Michoacano" Flores of
Houston used an impressive body attack to dispatch
Edson Renteria of Odessa, Texas!
Flores came in at 2-0 with 2 KO's, last scoring a 2nd round TKO over Breuntre Miller in Texarkana in September.
Flores is the younger brother of Benjamin Flores,
the Houston fighter who died last April after a
fight with Al Seeger in Dallas. The younger Flores
has taken his older brother's nickname, and his
shorts bear stitching offering a tribute to
Benjamin, that he may rest in peace.
Renteria was 0-1, losing a four-round majority
decision to Rafael Casias in Midland in August.

Baker Blasts Hayes!
Undefeated Cruiserweight Craig "El Gato Negro" Baker of Baytown,
Texas had little trouble taking out Gabriel Hayes of Texarkana.
Baker brought a record of 8-0 with 7 KO's and he was coming off a 3rd round TKO of Buddy Cochrane in Texarkana on October 14th.Hayes came in at 1-1,
most recently knocking out Cody Delaney in Texarkana
on October 14th. But Baker's power was so
overwhelming that at one point Hayes literally ran
for cover behind referee Bobby Gonzales!

..
The stoppage came at
2:30 of round one.
"Mean Gene" Mauls "Crazy" Robbie!!
Heavyweight "Mean" Eugene Hill of Dickinson, Texas
outmuscled "Crazy" Robbie McClimans over eight
rounds! Chris Henard Promotions' "Havoc II"
featured both boxing and mixed martial arts bouts!
Hill weighed in at
250 lbs. to 224 for McClimans.
While on paper this might have appeared to be something of a mismatch, this was in fact a highly anticipated battle among insiders of the Houston Boxing Scene.
See round one below!
..
Hill brought a record of 18-1 with 15 KO's, having come off a 4th round TKO over Joseph Harris less than two weeks earlier at the Arena Theater in Houston on October 10th.
But while McClimans brought a record of 7-5-2 with 2 KO's, he has proven himself to be something of a stubborn spoiler, a
deceptive and gutsy fighter with an awkward style.
McClimans was coming off two consecutive wins, most recently a six-round majority decision over Billy Willis in Humble on September 16th.
While each fighter had gone eight rounds twice before, McClimans gone ten, losing a split decision to Hector Ferreyo in challenging for the IBA Latino Heavyweight Title in Laredo in December of 2008.
While McClimans
likely won the first round with his movement and
countershots, he abandoned the mobility that could
have brought him victory in round two, spending
dangerous time against the ropes.
See video of round
two below!
..
Hill continued to
pound McClimans in round three with body shots,
hooks and jabs, effectively chasing "Crazy Robbie"
around the ring.
But McClimans
tried to make the adjustment
back to lateral movement in the fourth.
>>..
Hill advanced and landed the more solid shots
in round five.
See round six below!
..
The fighters traded
punches in round seven, with Hill landing some big
right hands at close range.
Round eight video!
..
One judge
scored the bout 79-73, another 78-74, and the third
77-75, all for Hill, giving him the unanimous
decision!

Miller
Hammers Hernandez!

The 37-year-old Hernandez brought a record of 3-1 with 3 KO's and he was coming off his first pro loss, a 3rd round TKO at the hands of Mike Wagenblast
in Houston on August 6th.
Miller brought a record of 2-1 with 2 KO's, and had
most recently been knocked out in the 2nd round by Miguel Flores in Texarkana in September.
But Hernandez would get rocked early in
round one against Miller in round one,
taking an eight count. But then Hernandez
turned it around and was on the verge of
winning the fight!
See the rest of round one below!
..
However Miller
put the lights out on "Hollywood" in round two.
..
The KO came
at 2:49 of the second round.

Angleton displayed superior jiu-jitsu skills in his
pro debut at 155 lbs.
Brooks dominated the
ground game to take a split decision over the Raul
Dominguez of Houston, who came into the match with a
record of 1-0.
See round one below!
..
The match remained
close throughout, but with Dominguez applying
ferocity and brute strength, while Brooks seemed to
use more finesse.
One judge
scored the match 29-28 Brooks, another had
the same score for Dominguez, while the
third judge scored it 30-27 for Brooks,
giving him the split decision!
